Join us for a hands-on bookbinding workshop led by Sheyla Amaral, a bookbinder with over 10 years of experience. Sheyla began teaching in 2012 in Brazil, where she ran her own bookbinding studio, EhLaiΓ‘!, and now runs Amanara's in Canada with a mission to share the art of creative binding through a mix of traditional techniques and artful design.
In this workshop, you'll transform raw paper and cloth into a beautiful, durable hardcover notebook. Sheyla will guide you step-by-step through two foundational bookbinding techniques: sewing a strong, flat-laying textblock using the classic French link stitch, and constructing a refined three-piece hardcover case using contrasting book cloths.
No prior experience necessary β just an interest in working with your hands and leaving with a book you made yourself.

Cancel at least 7 business days before your workshop to receive a full store credit. For cancellations made fewer than 7 business days in advance, a $50 fee applies, and the remaining balance will be issued as store credit.

Credits:
Credits are issued in the form of a gift certificate, it can go towards a future workshop, stationaries from our in house line or a custom print job with us. Credits must be used within one year from the date of the cancelled class.
