Then join us for a letterpress printing workshop.
In this 4.5hr beginner-friendly class, our team of patient, knowledgeable instructors will guide you through the fundamentals of good presswork: inking, impression, and the quiet rhythm of pulling a print by hand.
No experience needed. Just two hands and a little curiosity.
What you will walk away with:
All materials are supplied: paper, vegetable-based inks, use of our Vandercook proofing press. You'll also explore our curated collection of metal and wood type, unique vintage blocks, and you'll have time to design and print a card of your very own.

A Vandercook proofing press is a specific, highly-regarded type of cylinder proof press madeΒ for letterpress printing. Originally designed in 1909, it is a high-precision tool initially built for quality control, which has since become the gold standard for teaching and creating artisanal, small-batch prints.Β

Cancellation and Refund:
Cancel at least 7 business days before your workshop to receive a full store credit. For cancellations made fewer than 7 business days in advance, a $50 fee applies, and the remaining balance will be issued as store credit.
Porchlight Press reserves the right to cancel a class for any reason. You will be notified as soon as possible and will receive a choice of a full refund or store credit.
Credits:
Credits are issued in the form of a gift certificate, it can go towards a future workshop, stationaries from our in house line or a custom print job with us. Credits must be used within one year from the date of the cancelled class.
